Morning - Giorno/Mattina (In the morning = Di giorno/di mattina)

Afternoon - Pomeriggio (In the afternoon = Di pomeriggio)

Evening - Sera (In the evening = Di sera)

Il plurale si forma aggiungendo una -s alla fine del sostantivo:

a car - two cars = una macchina - due macchine


a student - ten students = uno studente - dieci studenti

(12) Gli articoli - The articles

In inglese, l'articolo determinativo è 'the'. Esso corrisponde a tutti gli articoli determinativi italiani: maschili, femminili, singolari e plurali (The = il, lo, la, i, gli, le)

L'articolo indeterminativo in inglese è 'a' oppure 'an'. Entrambi corrispondono a tutti gli articoli indeterminativi italiani. (A = un, uno, una, un'). An viene usato quando la parola che lo segue inizia per vocale.

(10) Come chiedere l'età - How to ask somebody's age

How old are you? = Quanti anni hai?

risposta:
I'm 24 / I'm 24 years old = Ho 24 anni

In inglese, a differenza dell'italiano per indicare l'età si usa il verbo essere:
I'm 24 = Io sono 24
perchè è sottinteso il seguito della frase, cioè "years old" che può comunque essere espresso.
Quindi tradotto alla lettera in italiano sarebbe io sono vecchio 24 anni, ma ovviamente viene tradotto con ho 24 anni.
La stessa domanda how old are you? alla lettera significa quanto sei vecchio?
